Riversdale Beach Sewerage Scheme - Tender Let
The design tender for the Riversdale Beach
Sewerage Scheme has been let, enabling work to commence on the
design of a pond-based scheme on land owned by the Tatham
family.
The Council, at a special meeting yesterday
(October 1), accepted a fee proposal from Duffill Watts Group
worth approximately $670,000 to provide professional services
for the Riversdale Beach Community Sewerage Scheme.
Council Chief Executive Officer Wes ten
Hove said they had invited Requests for Proposal from five
short-listed consultancies and received 3 submissions.
“All were of a very high standard and we
are pleased to be able to get the ball rolling sooner rather
than later,” Mr ten Hove said.
Duffill Watts Group will undertake
investigation, preliminary design, will work with Council’s
nominated resource consent consultant to gain resource consent,
will complete the detailed design incorporating any requirements
of the resource consent, will tender the project and manage its
construction.
The project is due for completion in
November 2010 when commissioning of the new sewerage treatment
and disposal scheme will begin. This is expected to last some 3
months.
Reports and information relating to this
project are in the public arena and can be downloaded on the
Council website here
