Water Restrictions
River levels are
dropping! The weather is hot and we need to reduce our water
consumption.
Residents on the
Masterton Urban Water Supply are urged to comply with the odd or
even day water sprinkling restrictions.
‘If we all do our
bit to keep water use down the Council may not have to introduce
any further water restrictions says James Li Utility Services
Manager. ‘Make sure the water you do use is effective. Give
your plants a good water less often and keep the mulch on. Hand
watering aimed directly at each plant is more effective than
sprinklers.’
‘The amount of
water we can draw from the Waingawa River each day is decided by
the Greater Wellington Regional Council and they have warned us
that dropping water levels mean that we need to stick to the
restrictions.’
