Report Out, Meeting Planned to Fast-Track Homebush Irrigation Work
The use of Masterton’s treated effluent for farm irrigation will
be a step closer after next week’s meeting to look at options
and costs.
A
commissioned report by engineering consultants Beca will be the
subject of discussion with ‘interested parties’ at Masterton
District Council on Thursday September 10.
The
Council’s assets and operations manager David Hopman said the
report contained ‘different options and preliminary cost
estimates for the opportunities we have in the Homebush area.
It provides an outline of the requirements for any irrigation
schemes and will be the starting point for more discussion of
the options and of the associated assumptions’.
‘Discussion of the issues arising from this report will
hopefully allow us to take the first steps towards the
implementation process of the irrigation scheme.’
The report has been
issued to the interested parties and copies are available at the
Council or on-line below -
