Draft Masterton District Council Liquor Licensing Policy
The Masterton District
Council is seeking public submissions on its Draft Liquor
Licensing Policy.
The policy is to help to
ensure that:
-
transparent and consistent
guidelines are provided to licensing applicants and to the
Masterton District Licensing Agency when undertaking their
duties;
-
ensuring the Masterton
District Licensing Agency comprehensively addresses its
responsibilities in relation to the object of the Sale of
Liquor Act.
Copies of the draft strategy
and submission form are available from the Council office at
64 Chapel Street Masterton, the Masterton District Library,
and on the Masterton District Council website below.

Draft Wairarapa Alcohol
Strategy
The District Councils of
Masterton, Carterton and South Wairarapa are seeking public
submissions on the Draft Wairarapa Alcohol Strategy.
The strategy’s vision is to
create an environment in which alcohol related activities
can be enjoyed with minimal risk to the community.
Copies of the draft strategy
and submission form are available from each Council, all
public libraries, and on the Masterton District Council
website below.
The councils will respond to
requests to address and/or listen to meetings on the alcohol
strategy issues.

Water Restrictions End
Masterton Residents you were great!
The Masterton District Council wishes to thank its
residents for complying with alternate day water sprinkling.
Remember to conserve water wherever
possible. It is still very dry out there and low flow
alarms are still being received for the Waingawa River.

Wairarapa Rural Fire District
Open Fire Season
Notice is hereby given pursuant to
Section 22 of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977 that the
Wairarapa Rural Fire District REVOKES the previously
imposed Prohibited and Restricted Fire Seasons and declares
an OPEN FIRE SEASON across the whole of the
Wairarapa Rural Fire District, apart from the Wiltons Road
peat swamp, which will continue under a Restricted Fire
Season. A permit is still required to light any fire within
the Wiltons Road peat swamp.
This notice takes effect from 9th
March 2009.
This notice applies to all the rural area
of the Wairarapa.
In all cases a person lighting any fire
in the open air shall remain in attendance and supervise the
fire until it is fully extinguished.
FOR ALL EMERGENCIES PHONE 111 and quote
your name, address and in rural areas your rural property
number.
The Wairarapa Rural Fire District takes
this opportunity to thank the people within the Wairarapa
for your cooperation during the Restricted and Prohibited
Fire Seasons, and for your careful and responsible
attitude.
