Genesis Energy Castle Hill Wind Farm
Genesis Energy has lodged resource consent application to establish and
operate the Castle Hill Wind Farm on privately owned rural land in the
southern part of this district and in the northern part of the Masterton
District. The site covers approximately 30,000 ha of predominantly
pastureland, about 20 km east of Eketahuna and Pahiatua. When finally
constructed, the wind farm site of up to 286 turbines will cover
approximately 226 ha.

centres. A summary of the application can be downloaded below, and a DVD of
the full application are also available on request.
As well as seeking a resource consent from Masterton, consents are being
sought from Horizons and Greater Wellington Regional Councils and Tararua
District Council. The four councils are working together on this project and
propose to jointly hear the applications at a later date.
The application is now open for submissions until 26 September 2011.
Submission forms are available in the service centres or can be downloaded
below. All submissions should be sent to the Horizons office in Palmerston,
where the submissions are being collated.
