This scholarship was established as a memorial to the late Murray King, who was a pioneer in the development of soil conservation and sustainable land management programmes in the Wairarapa. The scholarship is worth up to $2,500 and is awarded annually.
It’s given to Wairarapa secondary students going to university to study conservation, sustainable land management, integrated catchment, natural ecosystem management and other related fields.
You can apply if you have done some, or all, of your secondary study in the Wairarapa or if you live in the Wairarapa.
Applications close on 31 March each year.
