As part of its Long-Term Plan 2024-34, Masterton District Council decided to extend its Waiata House offices to accommodate a purpose-built civil defence facility, customer services staff, public meeting rooms, and a laboratory for use by environmental services staff.
The budget is $8.7 million, spread across two years.
Silverwoods and Arch+ have been appointed as architects for the project.
A geotechnical assessment of the site has been carried out, and a concept design is expected this month (April 2025), with a preliminary design likely in July 2025. Once a preliminary design has been received it will be considered by a quantity surveyor to assess affordability.
