Riversdale Beach Road
In response to comments on the Riversdale Beach Neighbourhood Notice Board Facebook page, regarding the road to Riversdale, the following information was provided:
The Council is very aware of the condition of parts of the road to Riversdale and is taking active steps to remedy them.
Warning signage will be erected as soon as this leaves the factory – in the coming weeks.
Contracts have been let for the major pieces of work but as is the case for many pieces of Council work, our contractors are under considerable pressure through availability of workforce and equipment.
It will take some time for work to be completed, likely to be a number of months, and unfortunately some work may not be completed until well into next year.
Where the need for work constitutes a safety issue it is carried out as priority, but challenges with roading as a result of a very wet winter mean issues in the Masterton District are not confined to the road to Riversdale.
We understand residents’ concerns, and appreciate their patience.
Road users should exercise additional care and reduce speed in areas subject to land movement.
It is not useful to email or telephone an individual staff member when they are aware of issues and already busy.
