Recreation Centre Incident
Stuff followed up video on social media of an incident involving Police at the Trust House Recreation Centre pool, asking for details. The following response was provided, again attributable to Corin:
This person was doing bombs into a lane pool in which older residents were aqua walking.
As this was a safety issue, they were asked to stop this behaviour – they declined.
To avoid escalating the situation, pool staff then asked a Māori Warden to assist.
After speaking to the person, the Māori Warden called the Police.
Details of the person’s interaction with the Police are a matter for the Police.
The pool was very popular during the school holidays and the behaviour of users was generally very good.
A question relating to the past employment record of a Belgravia staff member was referred to Belgravia Leisure.
