Resource Consent Sought for Windfarm
The Times-Age asked for an update on Meridian Energy’s application for resource consent for a wind farm.
Masterton District Council is one of the four local authorities that have received the application. The others are Tararua District Council, Greater Wellington Regional Council, and Horizons Regional Council. The resource consent ‘clock’ for progress of the application has been paused by all four authorities as further information has been requested collectively under s.92 of the Resource Management Act.
The four councils have collectively sought further information around the following topics - landscaping/visual, traffic, lighting, noise, aggregate crushing, planning statutory assessment/resource consent requirement, civil aviation requirements, erosion and sediment control, aquatic ecology, terrestrial ecology, stormwater quality, hydrology, geotechnical/land stability, contaminated land, and air quality. Once further information is received and it is sufficient to address the issues raised, the application will be notified by all four local authorities.
