Cyclone Vaianu and Weather Notices, 12 April 2026
Our teams are continuing to keep a close eye on Cyclone Vaianu. While the latest update from WREMO shows the track shifting east, reducing the chance of major impacts for us compared to other regions, we still need to be prepared to experience some rough weather.
The following Weather Warnings remain in place:
- There is a Heavy Swell Warning in place for Wairarapa
- There is a Heavy Rain Warning in place for the coastal hills of Wairarapa
- There is a Heavy Rain Warning in place for Tararua Range. Because of the rain forecast for the Tararua Range and coastal hills, our local rivers and streams may rise quickly.
Stay informed. Weather advice can change fast. Keep an eye on the experts for warnings and advice.
