The local community makes a major contribution to the wellbeing of our District. Council has different funding schemes available to community groups, voluntary organisations, and in some cases individuals, to help them meet local needs and increase participation in local activities.
Community Events Fund
The aim of the Community Events Fund is to support exciting events that celebrate our culturally rich and diverse district.
Community Wellbeing Grant
We want to build the capability of organisations and community groups in our community so that they can keep doing the things that make Masterton a great place to live.
Marae Development Fund
Every year Council allocates $15,000 to support Marae with protecting, maintaining, restoring and/or developing Marae structures.
Masterton Arts Fund
This funding is for making a difference to the quality, scope or participation in the arts sector and/or the arts economy.
Masterton District Creative Communities Scheme
The Creative Communities Scheme encourages community involvement, celebrates cultural diversity, and encourages young people to participate in arts activities.
Murray King Montfort Trimble Foundation Scholarship
This grant supports Wairarapa secondary students going to university to study conservation, sustainable land management, integrated catchment, natural ecosystem management and other related fields.
Peter Laing Memorial Trust Grant
This grant supports practical training to help people enter the agricultural industry.
