Heavy Rain Warning | Tararua Ranges

There is a Heavy Rain Warning in place for the Tararua Ranges. This is effective from 2pm Friday 10th October to 2pm Saturday 11th October 2025. Expect 120 to 180mm of rain. Peak rates of 10 to 20 mm/h. Note, rain is expected to continue into Sunday and this warning may be extended.

Streams and rivers may rise rapidly. Surface flooding, slips, and difficult driving conditions possible.

There is also a Strong Wind Watch in place for the Wairarapa. This is effective from 11pm Thursday 9th October to 2pm Friday 10th October 2025. Northwest winds may approach severe gale in exposed places.
