Heavy Rain & Wind Warnings | Tararua Ranges & Wairarapa

There is a Heavy Rain Warning in place for the Tararua Ranges. This is effective from 11pm Monday 20th October to 5pm Tuesday 21st October 2025. Expect 100 to 130mm of rain. Peak rates of 10 to 20mm/h expected Tuesday afternoon.

Streams and rivers may rise rapidly. Surface flooding, slips, and difficult driving conditions possible.

There is a Strong Wind Warning in place for the Wairarapa. This is effective from 10pm Monday 20th October to 6pm Tuesday 21st October 2025. Severe gale north to northwesterlies gusting 130 km/h in exposed places.

Damage to trees, powerlines, and unsecured structures possible. Driving may be difficult, especially for high-sided vehicles and motorcycles.
