Join the Monfort Trimble Foundation Board – External Appointee
Masterton District Council is inviting Expressions of Interest from community members to join the Monfort Trimble Foundation Board as a Council-appointed member.
The Monfort Trimble Foundation is dedicated to environmental stewardship, forestry management, and delivering long-term benefits to the community. The Board provides governance oversight and strategic direction, and ensures the Foundation achieves its objectives in alignment with Council priorities and community interests.
As a Board member, you will help guide the Foundation’s strategic direction, ensure strong governance, and champion initiatives that protect and enhance our natural resources for future generations. You will also have the opportunity to engage with the elected members to understand Council’s priorities.
What we’re looking for
- Governance experience and understanding of board responsibilities.
- Strategic and commercial acumen, including financial literacy.
- Knowledge of environmental management, forestry, or sustainability initiatives.
- Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and represent community interests.
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and, where relevant, tikanga Māori.
Commitment
The Board meet formally 11 times a year, with additional meetings scheduled if necessary. Meetings are usually held in the evening, in Masterton, typically lasting two hours. Additionally, the Foundation’s AGM is held in November.
The position will be remunerated in line with the Masterton District Council (Montfort Trimble Foundation) Act 2003.
