Water main replacement - High Street, Masterton - from 3 June 2026

Masterton District Council (MDC) contractors will be installing new water main on the west side (northbound) of High Street, Masterton, between Fleet and Vivian Streets throughout June, starting Wednesday 3 June.

The work replaces an ageing water main. Traffic management will be in place, and residents will be advised a day before work begins outside their properties if vehicle access will be affected.

It is expected that work will affect 4-5 properties at one time, for around two days. On-street parking will be affected over a wider area.

A period of overnight work, over 2-3 days, will be required to replace a water main running across to the east side of High Street.

The project is being coordinated with ongoing work by the Wellington Transport Alliance to minimise disruption.

The MDC main replacement work is scheduled to be completed by the end of June. This is weather-dependent.
