Temporary Closure - Council Owned Sports Grounds

Due to the current weather and ground saturation, all Council owned Sports Grounds are closed for all training and scheduled matches from midday today and won't be re-opened until an assessment is completed on Monday morning.

The decision has been made in consultation with our Parks Contractor - Green by Nature, who are reaching out to the affected Clubs.

The reason for the closure is due to the persistent wet conditions the grounds have been exposed to, the grounds are at saturation point, and there is heavier rain forecast to reach the Wairarapa later today and through Thursday.

With junior sports having a break due to the school holidays, taking this preventative step now will ensure the grounds remain available and playable through the remainder of the winter sports season.
