Tō Tātou Tapuwae Waro - Tiwhikete Toitū
A carbon footprint is the amount of greenhouse gasses released in the atmosphere as a result of our activity.
We have been measuring our carbon footprint since 2016 and in that time, we have seen our overall greenhouse gas emissions reduce every year.
MDC is one of New Zealand’s first local governments to achieve an internationally recognised emissions reduction certification under Toitū Envirocare’s carbon reduce programme.
The certification means MDC is officially recognised as actively working to measure and manage its carbon footprint.
