Masterton District Youth Council
MJ
I’m a year 8 student at Chanel. I like badminton, writing, math, volleyball, and food. I’m excited to be a part of this because I’ve always wanted to do something for my community, and I think it's a really good way to step out of my comfort zone.
Lace
I'm a year 12 student at Chanel College. I enjoy mini golf, going to markets, volunteering, and motorbikes. I'm excited to be a part of MDYC because as someone who is seen as different, I'm excited to just add a new type of person to this role that you wouldn't normally see. I also love meeting new people, helping others, and having a good laugh.
Adelaide
I’m a year 10 student at Wairarapa College. I’m looking forward to being a part of the Youth Council because I’m very passionate about giving a voice to the youth of Masterton, solving community problems, and making a difference where I can. Some of my hobbies include baking, reading, and watching movies.
Grace
I’m year 12 at Solway College where I board 5 nights a week. I enjoy public speaking, volleyball, japanese and am the Solway College student representative on the Board of Trustees. During my time on the youth council this year I hope to ensure all voices of the Rangatahi are heard, focussing on environmental issues and racial justice in Masterton.
Bella
I am a year 9 student at Wairarapa college. My hobbies are baking, organizing, interior design, netball, dance, acting and more. I can’t wait to be in the Masterton Youth Council and can’t wait to share some input on the community and help them out in many ways and work with a bunch of different people.

I am a year 10 student at Solway college. Outside of Kura I enjoy sports, music, Whanau, etc. I can't wait to be a part of the Masterton youth council and can't wait to work with you all to make Whakaoriori (masterton) a better place.
Monty
I'm Year 8 at Hadlow School and I enjoy hanging out with my friends, cooking and being a role model. As a member of the MDYC I want to spread the voices of my peers and help make the right decisions.
Chester

Heidi
I am a year 10 student from Makoura college and I enjoy art, baking and going outdoors. I decided to sign up for the youth council because I would like to make a difference in the youth community in Masterton.
Waka-Toi
I'm from Wairarapa College. I love all sports, kapa haka, music, and maths. My Great Grandfather is Toi Walker who once ran for Mayor of Masterton but didn't quite make it. He not only did that but as an engineer crane driver at Loaders, he also help build Masterton. I want to carry on his legacy and continue to build and grow our ancestor's dream to make this place as best as it can be for whoever lives here. Can't wait to work with you all. LETS GOO!!!
