Council workshops

Council workshops prepare the mayor and councillors with the appropriate background information and knowledge they need to make informed decisions for the district.

Workshops and briefings are part of the educative phase of the Council’s decision-making process and also provide an opportunity for discussion between elected members and council staff. Workshops cannot be used to make final decisions - these can only be made at council and committee meetings.

Council workshops are generally open to the public, however from time to time, we may need to exclude the public and when that happens we will outline the reason for this.
