Halloween
Harowīni
Halloween is one of the most popular times in our events calendar. Here you can find out about our annual Halloween events that take place every year on 31 October.
HalloWhere?
HaroWhea?
HalloWhere? is a map that we create every year so that people can register their property as 'trick or treater friendly'. If you have great decorations or would like to welcome little ghosts and ghouls to your door, register to be listed on the map. Check back here in October 2024.

• Low Scare Halloween Zone
• Roaming Halloween Characters
• Spot prizes for best dressed
In 2023 we also introduced Wai Tech's Halloween Haunted House.
HalloWatch
HaroMātaki
Every year we present a free community screening to celebrate the Halloween horror genre.
So far we have screened:
- The Cabinent of Dr. Caligari (1920) - widely regarded as the first horror film ever made.
- Nosferatu (1922) - widely regarded as the first vampire film ever made.
Our community screenings have been made possible with the support of the Goethe-Institut and Film Talks.
